Week 12

4/19/14
  • No major edits were made to the site, except for the addition of a couple of minor adjustments.

  • My part of the presentation is almost done.
  • I worked on getting my slides together.

4/21/14
  • I worked on the presentation for our group. I decided to keep it basic because we have so many pictures.

  • I worked on the 15/5s.
  • I updated the team meeting page.
  • I updated my hours on the Timeline. 
  • I redesigned our team presentation. Dr. Grant said it was much better.

  • Website is complete, except for adding one last report. This should be added by the end of this week or early next week.
  • I made the last revision to my part of the presentation.

Reflection:

  • What did I do? I updated the site and worked on the presentation for the product.
  • What was important about what I did? Did I meet my goals? The goals for this week mostly regarded getting the presentation ready. I was able to send off a revision of the presentation for the showcase.
  • When did I do this before? Where could I use this again? I will continue to use this site throughout the semester, as well as in the future. It is now time to present the project to show our progress.
  • Do I see any patterns or relationships in what I did? I have my usual pattern of deadline following. This is a continuing pattern that I use daily at work and here in class. 
  • How well did I do? What worked? What do I need to improve?  My calendar of deadlines is continuing to work for me, as far as the website and revisions. As of now, there is not much left on the calendar :)
  • What should I do next? What's my plan / design? My next step is to upload the revisions for the finalized documents.

  • I had to redo a portion of the team member page because it became unaligned.

  • What did I do? I made minor adjustments to the site and worked on the elements that David sent out for edits.
  • What was important about what I did? Did I meet my goals? The goals for this week mostly were focused on winding down on edits to the website. Not a lot needed to be done.
  • When did I do this before? Where could I use this again? I will continue to use this site throughout the semester, as well as in the future. All of the re-edits are a part of design.
  • Do I see any patterns or relationships in what I did? I have my usual pattern of deadline following. This is a continuing pattern that I use daily at work and here in class. 
  • How well did I do? What worked? What do I need to improve?  My calendar of deadlines is continuing to work for me, as far as the website and revisions. My 15/5's are still not caught up all of the way.
  • What should I do next? What's my plan / design? My next step is to work on the presentation aspects of the final product.

  • We are each supposed to find a novice to participate in the online assessment. 
  • I found a friend that tried the booklet out and took the survey. We discussed what she thought afterwards.

  • I worked on the 15/5's because they were not formatted correctly. I don't know what happened to it. The sizes and colors were wrong.
  • I also rearranged the order of some of the pages.

  • What was important about what I did? Did I meet my goals? The goals for this week mostly regarded getting the evaluations ready for the booklet. I met my goals by working with David and Steve by discussing what needs to be addressed as part of the evaluations.

  • When did I do this before? Where could I use this again? I will continue to use this site throughout the semester, as well as in the future. Assessments are a main component in being a successful product, so it is important to know how to maintain assessments. 
  • Do I see any patterns or relationships in what I did? I have my usual pattern of deadline following. This is a continuing pattern that I use daily at work and here in class. 
  • How well did I do? What worked? What do I need to improve?  My calendar of deadlines is continuing to work for me, as far as the website and revisions. I keep a log in a notebook, and yet I keep forgetting that I have to have everything posted. This is a major need of improvement. 
  • What should I do next? What's my plan / design? My next step is to upload the documents for the Evaluative Report. I also need to add another design documentation page.

  • Team meeting page was updated.
  • David asked that I upload the revised Content Analysis.

Reflection:

  • What did I do? I updated the site and reorganized some of the documents.
  • What was important about what I did? Did I meet my goals? There weren't any major goals to be met this week. 
  • When did I do this before? Where could I use this again? I will continue to use this site throughout the semester, as well as in the future. I am actually using Google Sites to create an online course for another class. I am constantly making changes, which is a sign of developing as a designer. 
  • Do I see any patterns or relationships in what I did? I have my usual pattern of deadline following. This is a continuing pattern that I use daily at work and here in class. 
  • How well did I do? What worked? What do I need to improve?  My calendar of deadlines is continuing to work for me, as far as the website and team documents. I failed to keep my blog updated again. This continues to be something I overlook.
  • What should I do next? What's my plan / design? My next step is to add the weekly documents to the site. I will need to be prepared to start editing some of the pages and uploading newer, revised documents.

  • I finalized the storyboards and sent them out to the team.  (1 hour)
  • Steve said they were right on target!
  • I only made some minor corrections to some things on the website.

  • I updated and reorganized the Design documentation pages.
  • There are now pages within the links to make the documentation more organized. (1 hour)

3/1/14
  • Team met to discuss the goal and performance analyses.
  • I voiced my concerns about the wording of some of the aspects and content. The verbiage needed to be changed. 
  • David asked that I add the final links, so the team can start uploading the last of the documents.

3/3/14
  • I worked on the 15/5s.
  • All links are now up and running. Documents are the only components missing now. (1 hour)
  • I updated my hours on the Timeline. 
  • I also spent some time going through the site, while looking over the requirements just to make sure we have everything. (1 hour)

Reflection:

  • What did I do? I updated the site and reorganized some of the pages throughout the week. All links and pages are complete.
  • What was important about what I did? Did I meet my goals? I met my goal of finishing all of the pages and links that we will need. This is important because now all required documents can be housed on the site as they become complete. 
  • When did I do this before? Where could I use this again? I will continue to use this site throughout the semester, as well as in the future. I am actually using Google Sites to create an online course for another class. I am constantly making changes, which is sign of developing as a designer.

I keep a log in a notebook, and I forget that I have to have everything posted. This is a major need of improvement. 
  • What should I do next? What's my plan / design? My next step is to add the weekly documents to the site. I also need to go back an update a couple of our links to make sure that they are going to the updated documents.

2/19/14
  • David asked me to add the remaining 15/5 pages. I spent about an hour working on these and their links. 
  • Steve emailed me the storyboards to work on now that I am helping with the Treatment Report.
  • I also updated the Project Plan.

2/21/14
  • I worked on the storyboard using the first 10 poses. (3 hours)
  • I will continue to work on the boards for several days.
  • I only updated one document on the site, as most time is being spent on the boards.

  • Our team had a Google Community meeting.
  • I am continuing to work on the storyboards. The next ten poses were worked on. (2 hours)

  • I have been in contact with Steve just to make sure we were on the same page.

  • I sent out my revision of the Content Analysis. (30 minutes)

Reflection:

  • What did I do? I worked on the storyboards throughout the week.
  • What was important about what I did? Did I meet my goals? The storyboards are an important piece of the Treatment Report. They give a layout of what our product will look like. I completed the boards, so I met my goal for the week.
  • When did I do this before? Where could I use this again? I have completed storyboards before in one of my previous classes. We used a similar template. I know I will see this again throughout my future career. 
  • Do I see any patterns or relationships in what I did? I continue to follow my calendar of deadlines. It was important that I get this task completed, so that I could send it to Steve. 
  • How well did I do? What worked? What do I need to improve?  My calendar of deadlines is continuing to work for me. I continue to work on keeping myself on track. 
  • What should I do next? What's my plan / design? My next step is to go back to working on the website now that the storyboards are complete.
